Hello all

Last Sunday, we had a fantastic turnout for our Welsh Terrier Ramble, and what a day it was! Hylands Park provided the perfect backdrop, offering a stunning mix of woodland trails, open parkland, and formal gardens for our lively group to explore.

Some opted for a shorter, leisurely stroll, while others stretched their legs and covered nearly half the park. There was plenty of excitement along the way—Rosie showed off her off-lead skills, delighting everyone with her energetic zoomies, while in the formal gardens Nell kept a watchful eye on the ducklings by the pond, no doubt contemplating a possible snack! A few adventurous terriers even toyed with the idea of jumping into the small pond, though thankfully, they resisted the temptation.

The weather was on our side, with the sun shining brightly throughout the ramble, making it an even more enjoyable experience. It was wonderful to see our Welsh Terriers and their owners coming together for a day of fresh air, exercise, and great company.

J Berg sent the following info on a very dog friendly place to stay:

As a personal update - I've just come back from a fabulous break on the Gower peninsula, south Wales. Alan and I went there many years ago with Katie and Archie, after my dentist recommended going to Penrice Castle, whose cottages are doggie friendly. We've gone there ever since. Penrice Castle has a lot of well appointed self catering cottages - all dog friendly plus you have free access to the large park and, more importantly, the car park at Oxwhich Beach which they own. The beach extends for miles so Evie got a lot of exercise trying to go all the way (whilst we couldn't). It has toilets, Sauna, showers plus two cafes and water sports (for those who want to go sail boarding or canoeing). The Gower isn't commercial, which is great. When we first went there, Mrs Methuen Campbell had just lost her welsh terrier and was having difficulty getting another - we know what that can mean. Her son now runs things and he has a JR that objects to interlopers, but not our Evie!!

If any members want to contact or ask me about this, please give me their details. It's not many places are so doggie friendly.

Evie enjoying a well earned rest after her exercise:
