Hello all
I had a lovely message from Judith Berg who now lives in South Bucks and some photos of her WT Evie:
We got Evie from WT Rescue, i e Christine Couzens. We know Christine from when she was closely involved with Weltos and, indeed did some Discover Dogs stands with her, so she knows us and our expertise with the breed. We wanted an older dog but Evie had a failed rehoming so Christine, knowing us, asked if we would take Evie. Needless to say we said we would. Evie, after a long time settled in with us but I wouldn't expect her to accept another in the house, particularly at her age and being a girl another girl is out of the question. Christine is careful about rehomings, particularly after Evie had a failed one - that is, why she contacts us . I think now she always has rehoming dogs assessed by a breeder before them being put forward for rehoming so the dog is accurately assessed. We couldn't collect Evie immediately she was available and the breeder was able to tell us what to expect. I think it is always good if dogs are accurately assessed before rehoming. Also potential owners should be aware it can take years for some dogs to adjust. After a traumatic start, Evie now has a gps tracker so we know when Alan's carers open the door for her to go foraging. However, she is now well trained and sociable. I always said I would never have a dog in my bed, but when Alan was in hospital a long time last year, Evie was a great comfort and now sleeps on my bed. I won't chuck her off as I find it very comforting even though Alan is now home. I do love my affectionate Welshie.
Apart from that, I do believe that anyone taking either a puppy or older dog should get one to one help and/or go to classes. A lot depends on the age of the dog, but both are excellent for socialisation and discipline.
Evie is now my soul mate and, after many years of uncertainty, I think I'm hers.

Here's a picture of Evie taken last summer after a carer let her out. On her way to the woods, she stopped off to say hello to some people whose door was open and were decorating. Hence the pedicure. The paint wasn't water soluble and it took ages to get it off!
All the best, Judith

We had a lovely ramble in April through Otford Village stopping for lunch at the Crown Pub. The weather was lovely and we had our honorary Wire Fox Terrier join us:
Sorry no photos of our ramble in June at Haysden Country Park!
A message from Jane & Neil Stokes:
We would love to come to Hylands Park again but we are both at work so it’s going to have to be a pass in that one. The Haysden Park weekend is free so we are aiming to be at that one. Unfortunately we are going to miss the summer party too this year.
Attached is a pic of Brac having an impromptu bit of grooming as he surveys the garden this evening!

Tina and Jim sent through a couple of pictures of the lovely Bobbi:
Looking forward to our Summer Party next Sunday xx
